- Resume data: professional history, education, skills, certifications, and any other information you enter into the resume builder. This is stored under your account.
- Application data: job applications you submit, including the resume version used.
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, and feature interactions, used to improve the platform.
- Communications: job alert preferences and email address used to deliver them.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account.
- To enable you to build, save, and export resumes and cover letters.
- To submit job applications on your behalf.
- To send job alert emails you have subscribed to.
- To provide ATS scoring and other tools.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the platform.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area, our legal bases are:
- Contract: processing necessary to provide the services you have requested (account, resume builder, job applications).
- Legitimate interests: platform security, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
- Consent: job alert emails. You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
5. Kenya Data Protection Act 2019

6. California Residents (CCPA)
We do not sell personal information. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To submit a request, contact us at privacy@monicahr.com.
7. Data Retention
- Account and resume data is retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion, then permanently erased.
- Application data is retained for 2 years to support dispute resolution.
- Job alert subscriptions are deleted immediately on unsubscribe.
8. Third Parties
- Stripe: payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Email provider: used to deliver transactional and alert emails.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
9. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside Kenya or the EEA. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Cookies
We use only essential session cookies necessary for authentication and security. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
