Description

About the Company

Our client is a Kenyan-based, vertically integrated textile solutions provider specialising in the design, manufacture, and distribution of textile products across Sub-Saharan Africa. The company serves diverse market segments, including hospitality, consumer, fashion, and lifestyle, offering a broad range of textile solutions tailored to customer needs.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a commercially driven and results-oriented Hospitality Sales Representative to grow its presence and revenue within the hospitality sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new customers, developing strategic relationships, and converting market opportunities into sustainable business.

The role will focus on hotels, lodges, Airbnb properties, hospitality groups, hotel suppliers, and other relevant establishments requiring textile products and solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the hospitality market, an established industry network, and a proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close new business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Growth & Customer Acquisition

  • Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers within the hospitality sector.

  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to proposals, negotiations, and closing.

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified hospitality prospects.

  • Achieve agreed sales revenue, gross profit, and new customer acquisition targets.

  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products to existing customers.

  • Build repeat business and grow revenue from existing accounts.

2. Hospitality Market Development

  • Identify and prioritise opportunities across hotels, lodges, Airbnb properties, hospitality groups, and hotel suppliers.

  • Map potential customers, understand their purchasing requirements, and identify key decision-makers.

  • Leverage existing industry networks while developing new relationships and routes to market.

  • Monitor new hotel openings, renovations, refurbishments, and other developments that may create demand for textile solutions.

  • Identify opportunities ahead of formal purchasing requirements and translate them into sales opportunities.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hotel owners, procurement teams, general managers, and other relevant decision-makers.

  • Understand customer requirements, purchasing cycles, and decision-making processes.

  • Position the company as a reliable textile solutions partner rather than simply a product supplier.

  • Maintain regular customer engagement to encourage repeat business and account growth.

  • Address customer needs and coordinate internally to ensure effective service delivery.

4. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor competitor activities, market pricing, customer preferences, and emerging opportunities.

  • Gather market intelligence on hospitality developments, product requirements, and purchasing trends.

  • Provide regular updates and actionable recommendations to management.

  • Maintain accurate records of prospects, customer interactions, sales opportunities, and pipeline progress.

5. Commercial Execution

  • Prepare and follow up on customer proposals, quotations, and commercial opportunities.

  • Negotiate sales agreements while maintaining approved pricing and profit margins.

  • Ensure compliance with company payment terms, credit policies, and commercial procedures.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to support customer requirements and successful order execution.

  • Monitor opportunities through to conversion and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding proposals.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the hospitality industry.

  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new customers and achieving revenue growth targets.

  • Existing networks or strong relationships within the hospitality sector will be an added advantage.

  • Understanding of how hotels, lodges, Airbnb operators, and hospitality suppliers source and purchase products.

  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.

  • Ability to identify market opportunities and independently develop a sales pipeline.

  • Commercial awareness and ability to understand customer needs and recommend suitable solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales reporting tools.

  • Must be self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable with extensive fieldwork.
